The industry of waste management had been slowly adapting technologies such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, GPS and other integrated software that enabled better quality of data collection without the aid of estimation or manual entry.

WASTE HIERARCHY

This concept refers to the 3 Rs, which are reduce, reuse and recycle; a prominent strategy of waste management. In Europe, the hierarchy has 5 steps; having the first 3 with the addition of recovery and disposal.
